DLBP assists with office to residential conversion in Conservation Area

DLBP is delighted to have supported Adventure in Architecture° in securing full planning permission and listed building consent to convert an office building into 6 new apartments located within the prosperous Belgravia Conservation Area.

DLBP provided planning advice during the course of the application, which involved preparing a formal letter to the Council to justify the loss of commercial floorspace to address its initial ‘in-principle’ concerns. Despite the site's location in the Central Activities Zone, where there is a presumption against the loss of commercial uses, we put forward a successful argument that it was in an area that is predominantly residential in character and would reinstate a former residential use at the site and so was therefore acceptable in policy terms

We are very pleased to see Westminster approve this conversion scheme in such a high value and historically sensitive location which will inevitably unlock additional value for our client.
