Having the coveted Michelin Star, or even better, two or three of them, gives immediate fame to the restaurant, its Head Chef, and the city in which it’s located. Those with refined palates will often trek to partake in what experts have anointed as a pinnacle of food, libations, service, décor, and ambience. The added effect is that these travelers will stay in a hotel, shop at boutiques, explore their new environment, and hopefully encourage their peers to do the same.
Food experiences are sought out by many and can be a game-changer for a community. Jobs are created and expanded, leading to an economic boon. Plus, the potential added aesthetic of gleaming restaurants with outdoor seating can give an inviting view to diners, as well as passers-by. Multiply this many times over, and voila, a city’s culinary scene is on the map.
