DLBP US hosts Spring Lake Village community engagement event

The DLBP Atlanta team recently hosted its first community engagement event, for an exciting rezoning proposal, known as Spring Lake Village, in unincorporated Cobb County, GA, near the City of Powder Springs.

Spring Lake Village will be a woodland and waterside active adult community for adults over 55. This new community will give residents over 55 the opportunity to stay integrated within the Powder Springs community and be near their families and loved ones, while creating a sense of community within their residential neighborhood. The active adult community will hold 110 detached homes with scenic backyard terraces, private yards, and two car garages. Over 40% of the site would be dedicated to preserve open space.

The community will also include amenities, such as a clubhouse with a fitness room, reading room, and game room, woodland and lakeside walking trails, and an arts and crafts studio.

This proposal will make a vital contribution in providing housing for the fast-growing ageing population in the Atlanta Metropolitan.

At the open house-style engagement event, the DLBP team discuss the proposal and shared information with residents, all of who were very interested to learn more. On display were presentation boards showing the proposed site plan and unit layout, and details of the shared amenities and the many other benefits.

Overall, the event was well attended by members of the local community, the majority of whom represented adjacent neighborhoods, as well as District 4 Commissioner Monique Sheffield.

In light of the positive responses received, we are very excited to now progress this proposal through the rezoning process.
